D.El.Ed, or Diploma in Elementary Education, is a two-year undergraduate diploma course that covers a variety of teaching abilities, historical patterns, philosophical theories, and current classroom trends. The major goal of Diploma in Elementary Education course is to improve each student's motivation, philosophy, and dedication to a profession in elementary education, as well as several other fields like psychology and philosophy. D.El.Ed. is a diploma-level study that can be pursued after class 12. D. El. Ed. prepares students to teach at the primary/upper elementary level. Child Development, Educational Technology, Psychological Perspectives on Education, School Leadership and Management, and other topics are covered in the D.El.Ed. curriculum.


It is a full-time two-year diploma programme that can be completed through classroom training. Throughout the course, there are four semesters that prepare applicants to work in primary/upper elementary schools in various states around the country. The D.El.Ed programme is meant to combine internship and practical training in addition to classroom learning. It also incorporates education practice, child development principles, and the teacher's role in student grooming.

Educational qualification:

One should have completed the HSC exam from a recognized board or university in order to get admission to the institution.

Age criteria:

In order to appear for the admission procedure, one should be below the age of 24 years at the time of admission.

However, the lower age limit for the applicants to apply for the admission procedure is more than 17 years at the time of admission.

Qualifying marks:

Minimum 50% marks should be secured by the applicants who belong to the general category in the qualifying exam and minimum 45% of marks should be secured by the applicants who belong to reserved category.

The D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) two years course was launched from the academic year 2010-2012. NCTE (National Council of Teachers Education) vide Order No. F.NRC/NCTE/F-3/DH-209/2004/6803 dated 24.08.2004 granted unconditional recognition to run D.El.Ed. programme with an approved intake of 50 students.
