The National Council for Teachers has approved the B.Ed. programme. The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's B.Ed. or Bachelor of Education course is a two-year full-time degree programme. It is mostly concerned with advancing one's career.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a professional course that trains students to be socially responsible and responsive teachers by developing their teaching skills. This course lays the groundwork for future teachers. After completing this course, prospective teachers will be able to enter the teaching profession in prestigious institutes, where they will be accountable for constructing knowledge among pupils with a forward-thinking vision and aspiration. The teaching profession serves as a cradle for the preparation of policymakers, administrators, doctors, engineers, educators, and, most significantly, sensitised citizens who will serve as catalysts to preserve the nation. The fundamental goal of enrolling in a B.Ed. programme is to facilitate high levels of professional competency and intellectual conviction among new aspirants. The biggest problem, especially in this information-driven era, is to make sure that the right knowledge and values are given to their young, sensitive minds. The teacher needs to be skilled in social and educational methods. Programs for training and professional development, which are a part of the B.Ed. curriculum, serve as a key mechanism for keeping teachers' subject-matter expertise current and enhancing their teaching abilities to uphold high educational standards.

Admission to B.Ed. in Institute of Vocational Studies is based on GGSIPU CET (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University common entrance test). The University follows National Council of Technical Education (NCTE) guidelines for admission to the B.Ed. programme. The duration of this course is two years. It is a full-time programme and the college offers an annual seat intake of 100 students. This is a university-level entrance exam and the duration of this course is 2 year’s which has a semester system. This course can be done only in a regular mode not done in open as well as distance mode.

Candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree and/or in the Master’s degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities with minimum 50% marks.

OR

Must have completed Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto Candidates having fulfilled the eligibility conditions, as mentioned above, are eligible to opt for any two teaching methodology subjects, as per details given below for graduates and post graduates.

Graduate: Candidates must have passed at least two subjects from the following list of subjects - English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Science

Post Graduate: Candidates must have passed at least two subjects from the following list of the subjects -English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy, Business Studies, Political Science, History, Geography, Economics, Home Science.

Age Limit

There is no lower as well as upper age limit.

Admission procedure

First of all, the candidates have to fill the application form of B.Ed. admission by visiting the official website of the IP University. After that your admit card of B.Ed. comes, which is downloaded from the official website then you have to appear in the entrance exam after that result of B.Ed. will be declared on the official website. After that cut off will be released by the respective authority and candidates will get admission on the basis of their entrance marks.

B.Ed. Entrance Exam Pattern

The B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) one year course was launched from the academic year 2003-04. The NCTE (National Council of Teacher’s Education) vide order No. F.NRC/NCTE/F-3/DH-154/617 dated 24.4.2003 granted unconditional recognition to run B.Ed. Programme with an approved intake of 100 student, and approved by the Directorate of Higher Education of Govt. of NCT of Delhi under the affiliation of GGS Indraprastha University of Delhi.
